Spiritual Nourishment

Do you nourish your spirit like you nourish your flesh? How often do you have a meal? What about a good snack? Is it a fun time for you when you eat? Are you relaxed or is it something you hurry through? We all eat on a daily basis. Sometimes the whole 3 meals a day can get lost on us. Some of us only eat 2 and others maybe even eat more than 3 meals a day. It all varies depending on the person. We eat for physical nourishment. Food gives us the minerals and vitamins needed to nourish and promote growth. It also gives us energy, repairs the body tissues and maintains our lives on a physical level. You may be wondering what nourishment is exactly, so here's a few definitions for you: Nourishment  is food and other things that are needed for health, growth and etc; sustenance ; the act of nourishing . Nourishing is providing the things that are needed for health, growth and etc. Sustenance is something that gives support, help or strength to keep someone or something al

VOTW | Jeremiah 15:16 - Finding His Word

Hey Gems!!! This is the start of a new week on the blog so that means it's time for our VOTW! This week are looking at Jeremiah 15:16 in the NKJV translation: Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts. This was part of Jeremiah's prayer for his people to God. He pleaded with and declared to God his great love for and focus upon God’s word. This verse shows us how we should look at God and His word. First Jeremiah found God's word meaning that he neither neglected or took it for granted. He appreciated it. This is powerful because many of us are on one side of the spectrum or the other. Do you neglect the Word? Do you take it for granted? Next thing he did was eat the word of God as he would food. This means he took the word as if it were food for his body. From his intake we can gather that he received spiritual nourishment and refreshment. Do you get spirit

Cling Summer Book Club

Hey Gems!!! Summer is here so that means we will begin a new book club pick! We are diving into our 4th book club pick! We just finished up The Battle Plan for Prayer by Stephen & Alex Kendrick which was hosted by lovely sis Angie over at Transform through God's Word . It was such a powerful read! I loved everything about it and we also did the corresponding study with it. Life changing and has completely altered my view on prayer. This summer we will be diving into a book I think will help us hone the things we've studied these past few studies and book clubs. Cling by Kim Cash Tate. I absolutely love this book because it really helps you to understand how to cling to God in many ways -- especially through prayer and Bible study. Here's the synopsis from her website : By God’s design, the desire to be wanted and loved runs deep inside everyone He created. In an engaging and down-to-earth way, author Kim Cash Tate encourages you to satisfy that desire by livi

Gospel of John Summer Bible Study

Hello Gems! Exciting news to share with you all! I am coming on today to share with you all the next Bible study that I will be leading and I am so excited about it. This will be the 3rd Bible study that I've led for Daughter of Increase and it makes me so happy and excited for what God is doing through me for many women ( young and mature and men included ) out in the world. I wanted to pick a book of the Bible that would be fruitful to everyone no matter the stage of Bible studying or where they are in their walk with God. The Gospel of John just stuck out to me as the one. I personally, ADORE the gospel of John. It reveals so much about who Christ is to us and it's useful to the maturing of our faith. The first two studies I led where focused on women -- Ruth and Esther -- but as I continue to grow in God I want to continue edifying others in the best way I can ( with the guidance of the Holy Spirit of course ). Those studies were great! We had a live session every We

VOTW | Isaiah 43:2 - Troubled Waters & Fire

Hey Gems! This is the start of a new week on the blog and I'm introducing a new weekly post called VOTW. VOTW stands for verse of the week and it's a weekly post in which I share a scripture, break it down, give you questions to ponder and then a weekly dare pertaining to the verse to keep in mind for the entire week. It's a way to keep the Word of God at the forefront of your mind and help you apply it. This is the very first VOTW on the blog and this week's verse is a focus on Isaiah 43:2 in the NKJV translation: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. Why did I pick this verse for the first VOTW? It's really simple...have you ever asked yourself why God has you going through the storm and the fire? Or better yet have you asked why He is taking you through troubled waters? The answer is two fold reall

Back to Blogging

Good morning gems! I am back to blogging like I intended to when I created this blog. I wanted to post inspirational, faith based content that would edify the spirit and help you grow closer to God. I did get carried away with the book reviews -- but I'm a book nerd at heart. I plan to post at least 1-2  posts a week that's outside of book reviews. These posts will vary from short devotionals to prayers, study tips to scripture studies and so much more. I'll also be posting more information on upcoming Bible studies I lead as well as book clubs that are taking place over in the Daughter of Increase Facebook group. My desire for this blog is to keep a hub where women ( young and mature ) can come to put a fire back in their hearts for God, jump start their days with Jesus and stay in-tune with God. Thank you again to all who come to check out the blog. I truly appreciate it! New posts will be coming in July! Have a blessed day!
