Gospel of John Summer Bible Study

Hello Gems! Exciting news to share with you all!
I am coming on today to share with you all the next Bible study that I will be leading and I am so excited about it. This will be the 3rd Bible study that I've led for Daughter of Increase and it makes me so happy and excited for what God is doing through me for many women (young and mature and men included) out in the world.

I wanted to pick a book of the Bible that would be fruitful to everyone no matter the stage of Bible studying or where they are in their walk with God. The Gospel of John just stuck out to me as the one. I personally, ADORE the gospel of John. It reveals so much about who Christ is to us and it's useful to the maturing of our faith.

The first two studies I led where focused on women -- Ruth and Esther -- but as I continue to grow in God I want to continue edifying others in the best way I can (with the guidance of the Holy Spirit of course). Those studies were great! We had a live session every Wednesday from 10am EST to about 12pm EST and we went in verse by verse breaking down each chapter. Many were able to learn new ways to study, get new ideas to study and really push themselves to actual study.

Now, my method of studying is using a journaling technique which involves 5 simple steps:
  1. Read the entire chapter through (or paragraph if the chapter is long).
  2. Circle words I want to define (these are words I do know and words I don't). I like to get a better understanding of words in their Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek definition.
  3. Underline and box parts of or full verses that stand out to me.
  4. Take notes on things I've circled, underlined and boxed -- this is a step I do simultaneously along with steps 2 & 3.
  5. Add color! I use Crayola Twistable Colored Pencils, gel highlighters and regular highlighters to bring my notes to life.
With those simple steps I turn my Bible study into something magnificient and using those same steps I've helped others dive into their own studies.

Now let's see more info about this upcoming Bible study that begins in 2 weeks! No seriously, 2 weeks from now we begin our Daughter of Increase summer Bible study on the gospel of John...
The photo above has all the basic information for the upcoming study, but continue reading below for the more indepth information.

Begins Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 at 10am EST in the Facebook group. It will be a 2 hour (or 3 hour) live session of chapter 1. Friday, July 6th, 2018 by 12pm EST I will post a pre-recorded session for chapter 2 on to my YouTube channel. The study is "set" to end on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018.

The sessions will be twice a week mixing between a live session on Tuesdays and a pre-recorded session on Fridays. This will go on for 11 weeks to cover all 21 chapters of the gospel of John. Now, though I'm set for it to be 11 weeks, it may spill over to 12 or 13 because some chapters are very long with over 40+ verses, so I will definitely allow the Holy Spirit to guide me with that.

Overall, I cannot wait to do this study. John is seriously a phenomenal study. Again to catch the live sessions stay tuned to my Instagram where I will post an image and also join the Facebook group. All live sessions will be uploaded to YouTube prior to Friday's session being uploaded for those who don't join the group.

I pray you are all ready to join in with me and the others ladies on this journey through the gospel of John.

Blessings,

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;...

CSB Study Bible for Women {Bible Review}

Good morning loves! I'm starting a new layout when it comes to doing my Bible reviews just because they need a more in-depth post than my book reviews. I created a new way that will help me share more info about each Bible so I hope this helps you all! Today's review is on the The Study Bible for Women in the CSB translation and I am so excited to do this review. I want to first thank B&H Publishing group for the opportunity to review this gorgeous Bible as they sent me this Bible for review. DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene...
