Cling Summer Book Club

Hey Gems!!! Summer is here so that means we will begin a new book club pick! We are diving into our 4th book club pick! We just finished up The Battle Plan for Prayer by Stephen & Alex Kendrick which was hosted by lovely sis Angie over at Transform through God's Word . It was such a powerful read! I loved everything about it and we also did the corresponding study with it. Life changing and has completely altered my view on prayer. This summer we will be diving into a book I think will help us hone the things we've studied these past few studies and book clubs. Cling by Kim Cash Tate. I absolutely love this book because it really helps you to understand how to cling to God in many ways -- especially through prayer and Bible study. Here's the synopsis from her website : By God’s design, the desire to be wanted and loved runs deep inside everyone He created. In an engaging and down-to-earth way, author Kim Cash Tate encourages you to satisfy that desire by livi...

Fervent Book Club | Week 1

Good morning Gems! Today starts the official kick off of our Fervent Book Club and we are so excited! If you haven't done so already, check out the introductory post I did back in February which gives details about what this book club is about and the schedule. This week we will be focusing on the introductory chapters of the book titled: This Means War and Opening in Prayer. If you haven't seen War Room yet, I highly suggest you find a way to watch it. It's a great movie all about prayer and Priscilla Shirer is the main actress as well as based her book off of that movie. Take your time this week reading these two chapters and preparing your mind and heart for whatever God wants you to hear and/or see over the course of these 6 weeks. I would suggest grabbing a pen ( or few ), journal ( notebook or paper ) and some highlighters because we are going to really dive into this book and examine ourselves and personal prayer lives. Over the course of the week you can ...

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene...
