Hey Gems!!! Tomorrow begins a New Year!
We are walking out of 2020 and into 2021. I can't believe 2020 has come and gone. This year has been hectic. From my church moving to a new location to COVID-19 to more church changes and losing loved ones. I am just ever so grateful to have made it to the end of the year with my sanity in tact.
For 2020 I didn't share much about it, but my verse of the year was love. This year my word is...
I am not sure how this word came about. This was a complete surprise to me. I didn't really think about a word until last week and this one popped in my head oddly enough and I knew it was God.
The exact words that came to mind are as follows:
"Vision. You need to see My vision for you and keep your eyes set on the vision. Don't get clouded by the world or let your mind wonder. Vision is all you need. Focus on Me, your Savior and all that I have in-store for you."
These words touched my heart tremendously because even though I say I see the vision I don't always keep it at the forefront because I allow doubt and fear to stop me. Vision is needed for me to see myself the way God does. Vision is needed for me to stay focused on Christ. Vision is needed for me to keep on track with this ministry and my church ministry.
Vision in the Merriam-Webster means the following:
- the act or power of seeing
- having sight
- something seen
- the act or power of imagination
Now for an understanding of it according to the Word of God I need to share my scripture which is Habakkuk 2:3. Usually you hear people quote Habakkuk 2:2 which is about writing the vision and making it plain but with much study I know what that scripture refers to. However, I never looked or read beyond that scripture concerning vision and when I did I just knew that this was scripture.
"For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." - Habakkuk 2:3 NKJV
Vision according to this scripture in Hebrew is chazon meaning divine communication or revelation.
That gives the scripture so much more meaning than just having sight. To have divine revelation and communication with God is crucial! No matter what I may think, hear, what others may do or say that cannot overwhelm the vision given to me from the Father. No matter what I may face or go through all that God has for me will come to fruition. I just need wait patiently, move in faith and listen to Him.
If I don't focus or believe in His vision then how can I expect myself to move toward it and let alone have others believe in me. Even if things seem to be moving slow God has ordained to happen in its perfect timing according to His will and plan. Not my own.
This verse reminds me of when Jesus said the following words in Luke 22:42 - “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” It is forever and always His will be done, never mine.
I already have this word and verse on my wall set to go for the year. I am ready to keep the vision at the forefront.
What is your word and/or verse of the year for 2021?
Blessings,
