2019 Christian Non-Fiction Favorites

Hey Gems!!!

So I went through my 2019 favorites for both biblical fiction and Christian fiction. Now, it's time to run through my non-fiction Christian reads that impacted me this year.
These books have had the most impact on me of the many I read this year. They stand out and I'm quick to recommend these books to others.
2019 Non-Fiction Favorites
Review | Paperback | Kindle | Audiobook
This book focuses on the book of Esther in it's entirety and how we as women can be just like Queen Esther. We can be strong women of prayer, courage and influence in the areas that God allots to us. I highly recommend reading this while studying the book of Esther. Read this twice and loved it!

Review | Paperback | Kindle | Audible | Hardcover
What can I say about this beauty!? A non-fiction and fantasy mashup! This is epic. A story from an upper demon to a lower one all about keeping a human in bondage and tempting them. This was such a game-changer. Even though it's fictional, there were still some key things to understand in this book that brought some things to life for me. I adored this and annotated like crazy with this book. I HIGHLY recommend this paired with audiobook because it can be a bit of a drag at first to read through.

Review | Paperback | Kindle | Audible
Oh, my, my. This book has sparked a new found love for the book of Jonah for me. I adored this book and was slapped in the face with how beautiful this was. I loved how deep this book went beyond the surface level. The depth in the book of Jonah is so outstanding. I highly recommend reading this after doing a personal study of the book of Jonah. It will illuminate somethings for you!

Review | Hardcover | Kindle | Audible
Another book about Queen Esther and boy was this also a good one. This is one that I read prior to my ordination service and it came at a good time for me. It took me sometime to get into this book because Dr. Tony Evans started out his prologue focusing on football. I'm not much of a sports person unless it's sports in anime (LOL, no seriously). However, I pushed through and was mind-blown. It's all about how God is sovereign and how He will always make provision for His children even when it looks like all is lost. Definitely recommend reading this after a personal study of Esther.

Review | Paperback
As a newly ordained Evangelist -- well that was 4 months ago rather, lol -- this was such an epic refresher for me. Most of the stuff I already knew, but some things I found especially helpful. I would recommend this ministers, those in the process of becoming ordained or anyone wanting to learn more about evangelism. This has so much information concerning the ministry, personal and the business side of being a leader and the call.

I didn't read many great picks this year, but I pray to find at least 10 great ones in 2020. Do you have any good Christian non-fiction books that you read this year?!
Blessings,

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene
