This Bible is interesting. I was expecting a lot more from it then what I see inside. As much as I wanted to give this a great rating of at least 4 stars, I had to go with a 3 star rating. This Bible is great for those looking to grow in prayer, but it's not extremely prayer packed. There are prayers thrown in between a few verses, but nothing in-depth.

I think the prayers are great as prompts -- especially for journaling. They are scripture-based prayers and they are done by great Christians from church history. There is an author index that helps with knowing more about those who give the prayers within the Bible. There's a prayer index to help you find the prayers within each book. The scripture index and concordance are also good.

Do I think this is an essential Bible? Nope. Do I think it has its good merits? Yes.

Overall, I think you can go without. If you're looking for something focused on scripture this could be of good use, but it would have to do with your preference in Bible.

Blessings,

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene...

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;...
