Hey Gems!!!
Today's post is a review on the ESV Gospel Transformation Study Bible from Crossway. I've had this Bible for a few months and I've been able to "play around" with it. Here is my "first impression" video from back in March:
So let's get into this written review...
The ESV Gospel Transformation Study Bible is designed to help readers see Christ in all of Scripture, and grace for all of life. It features book introductions, 375,000+ words gospel-centered study notes, and a series of all-new articles on topics such as the relationship between the Old and New Testaments, the gospel in the Old Testament, the covenants, and more which is written by a team of over 50 pastors and scholars. This content explains passage-by-passage how God’s redemptive purposes culminate in the gospel and apply to the lives of believers today. Readers will be challenged to see how the message of the gospel transforms sinners from the inside out. This Bible includes a concordance and 80,000 cross-references.
This Bible does come in a few other designs:
I think this is a pretty good Bible. I am a fan of the ESV translation as it is an easy to read translation for both new believers and seasoned ones. I am in love with the design and color of the Bible. White and blue marble with gold accents -- GORGEOUS. I love that this a Smyth-sewn Bible...we love those. This Bible also comes with one ribbon bookmark, but I wish there were two. This is not a red letter text, but it doesn't bother me as much.
This is a single column study Bible which I've grown to love the single column style. The study notes are amazing as they focus on the gospel throughout the Bible and give factual information. The space provided on the side makes it great for using as a journaling Bible or adding stickers if need be. I love the topical index because it gives you so many words to focus on -- great for doing a specified word study.
My favorite thing about this Bible is the focus on the gospel throughout the entire Bible as a whole. It helps to make the Old Testament more "relevant" to our lives now and brings the entire view of the Bible from Old to New focused on story of Christ.
If this Bible seems like something you'd be interested in I'd highly suggest getting yourself a copy.
