Good morning Gems!!!
I pray you all had a beautiful day yesterday. I also pray that your morning runs smoothly as well. I've been enjoying this week and breaking down the Lord's Prayer because I'm personally taking so much from everything I'm writing in these posts and emails.
Today we are going to finish our breakdown of the Lord's Prayer with verse thirteen. Verse thirteen is two sentences that ends the Lord's Prayer so let's get straight into it!
"And do not lead us into temptation" - so after we have asked for daily provisions and forgiveness, we then ask Him to keep us from temptation. To understand this verse you would need to understand the Greek meaning of temptation.
"But deliver us from the evil one." - next we are to pray and ask God to deliver us from Satan and his minions. We need God to rescue us from evil because we can't do it on our own.
"For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen." - we close out the prayer by praising God, acknowledging Him and giving Him all credit.
Prayerfully this past week has helped your further understand the Lord's Prayer with different eyes.
Journaling Prompt
Please be as true to yourself as possible when answering the prompt to get the most out of this challenge.
Today's scripture comes from Matthew 6:13:
Spend 3-7 minutes journaling your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Use the prompt.
Verbal Prayer
Take 3 minutes and verbally speak your written prayer. Pray out loud so that He can hear your voice. If your prayer is short, try to add to it. Use the scripture to pray today. Praise Him. Give Him credit.
Listen
Sit quietly in a position that will not make you tired and wait on God. You may feel His presence, you may hear from Him. If you do, write down what He says or what you're feeling. Give yourself at least 2 minutes of pure silence to be able to hear from and feel God. This is a conversation, not a rant. Allow Him the opportunity to speak to you after you've spoken to Him.
Let's end in prayer...

"And do not lead us into temptation" - so after we have asked for daily provisions and forgiveness, we then ask Him to keep us from temptation. To understand this verse you would need to understand the Greek meaning of temptation.
Greek word peirasmos meaning an experiment, attempt, trial, proving. In the use of this verse we can see that temptation is used as a trial or test. Therefore, we are asking God to keep us from any testing or trial that is greater than what we can handle. God doesn't tempt us to do evil, but rather He allows us to go through various tests and trials to mold us into His image.
"But deliver us from the evil one." - next we are to pray and ask God to deliver us from Satan and his minions. We need God to rescue us from evil because we can't do it on our own.

Heavenly Father, we ask that You keep us from any testing or trial that is greater than what we can handle. We call out to You now for any trouble that may arise. May You protect and rescue us from the enemy and his minions. You alone are Alpha and Omega. You are all powerful. We praise Your name and say hallelujah. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
