40 Day Prayer Challenge: Day 24

Blessed Morning Gems!!!

I hope you're Sunday is going great. I'm still on the bus, five hours away from NY so my Sunday will be crazy to rush home and prepare for church. I would stay home and sleep, but after a great experience I'll make sure I get to church today.
Yesterday we started diving into the well known, quoted and loved Lord's Prayer. We broke down verse nine and today we are going to go into verse ten.

When we pray to God need to have passion in our prayers for the things of His heart and not of our own. The verse says "Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

We need to pray for the things that will bring His kingdom and His will to earth. We need to pray for His power to come to earth. We need to pray for things to go according to His plan and not our own. His kingdom and His will should always have top priority in our prayer lives.

Don't focus on promoting your wants and will. Focus on putting God's first. Jesus wanted us to pray with the desire that the will of God would be done on earth as it is in heaven. We need to pray for peace, obedience, long-suffering, love, joy and those things that exist in heaven but seem to be missing on earth.

Praying God's will requires that we are obedient, submissive and sincere. His will is always and forever greater than our own will.

Take time to pray His will more often.
Journaling Prompt
Please be as true to yourself as possible when answering the prompt to get the most out of this challenge.
How often do you pray the will of God in your life? In the lives of others? For your country? For the world?
Scripture
Today's scripture comes from Matthew 6:10:
Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Prayer Journaling
Spend 3-7 minutes journaling your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Use the prompt.

Verbal Prayer
Take 3 minutes and verbally speak your written prayer. Pray out loud so that He can hear your voice. If your prayer is short, try to add to it. Use the scripture to pray today.

Listen
Sit quietly in a position that will not make you tired and wait on God. You may feel His presence, you may hear from Him. If you do, write down what He says or what you're feeling. Give yourself at least 2 minutes of pure silence to be able to hear from and feel God. This is a conversation, not a rant. Allow Him the opportunity to speak to you after you've spoken to Him.

Let's end in prayer...

Heavenly Father, this morning we come praying Your mighty will. We pray that the earth is filled with Your love and peace. That those who don't know You are able to find You. That hate would flee and that disobedience would not be an issue. May every heart on this earth learn to be obedient and serve with a heart of compassion. We pray Your will be done on the earth just as it is in heaven. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Blessings,

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene
