Beautiful morning Gems!!!
As I type this I am preparing for an interesting trip to TN with my Bishop, Pastor (aka my First Lady), my mother (an Evangelist) and two other amazing Pastors of my church. I am excited and nervous all at once. This is another door God has opened for me to push me to my calling. I'll be attending a consecration and doing some work while I'm out their for ministry. I leave later on tonight and arrive tomorrow morning. Nine hour bus ride, so I'll most likely get a lot of reading done.
On the other hand, we are closing out another successful week of the prayer challenge! I can't believe we've completed three weeks so far. We are at the half way mark...twenty more days to go! To end this week I am going to share the last three types of prayer with an added one to make it four total. I know I said I had nine types of prayer, but there are really ten...
7. Consecration: "He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, 'O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.'" - Matthew 26:39
This type of prayer was only seen once in the Bible when Jesus was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. The prayer of consecration uses the phrase "if it be You will" and it simply allows us to do as Jesus did. This type of prayer allows you to be available to whatever God would have you to do or wherever He'd like to take you.
8. Imprecation: "Let those be put to shame and brought to dishonor who seek after my life; let those be turned back and brought to confusion who plot my hurt." - Psalms 35:4 (the entire chapter)
To imprecate means to to invoke evil upon or curse one's enemy. King David did this is a few of the Psalms. These type of prayers should only be prayed when paired with spiritual warfare prayers. These are not for every day use.
These last two types of prayers I saved for last purposely. I believe these are two of the strongest types of prayer that allows us to use the weapons, tools and power God gave to us...
9. Intercession: "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men." - 1 Timothy 2:1
Intercession is when you pray on the behalf of someone else, be it family, friend or stranger. You make your petitions to God for someone. It can be as simple as healing or as deep as deliverance. The focus of this prayer is not on yourself, but the life of another person.
10. Spiritual Warfare: "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." - Ephesians 6:12-13
Spiritual warfare prayers are the prayers we use when we are at war with the enemy. It's when you're binding and loosing things. It's the type of prayer that makes the enemy want to run from you. It's fighting against the enemy with our heavenly and supernatural weapons.
I pray you got something useful these last three days on the different types of prayers.
Journaling Prompt
Please be as true to yourself as possible when answering the prompt to get the most out of this challenge.
Today's scripture comes from Jeremiah 29:12:
Spend 3-7 minutes journaling your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Use the prompt.
Verbal Prayer
Take 3 minutes and verbally speak your written prayer. Pray out loud so that He can hear your voice. If your prayer is short, try to add to it.
Listen
Sit quietly in a position that will not make you tired and wait on God. You may feel His presence, you may hear from Him. If you do, write down what He says or what you're feeling. Give yourself at least 2 minutes of pure silence to be able to hear from and feel God. This is a conversation, not a rant. Allow Him the opportunity to speak to you after you've spoken to Him.
Let's end in prayer...

Let's end in prayer...
Heavenly Father, may nothing separate us from You today. Teach us how to choose only Your way today so each step will lead us closer to You. Help us walk by the Word and not our feelings. Help us to keep our hearts pure and undivided. Protect us from our own careless thoughts, words, and actions. Keep us from being distracted by our wants, desires and thoughts on how things should be. Help us to embrace what comes our way as an opportunity rather than a personal inconvenience. Help us to rest in the truth of Psalm 86:13, 'Great is your mercy toward me.' You already see the ways we will fall short and mess up. But right now, we consciously tuck Your whisper of absolute love for us into the deepest part of our heart. We recognize Your love for us is not based on our performance. You love is unconditional. Lord, help us to forever remember what a gift it is to sit with You like this each morning and second of our day. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
