40 Day Prayer Challenge: Day 17 - Methods of Prayer

Glorious morning Gems!!!

Happy Sunday my loves! I pray those who are going to church will have an amazing time. I'll be attending to services today and my church is having a women's service called "Shade of a Proverbs 31 Woman Part 3" and I can't wait!
Today we are diving into the different methods of prayer. These are just ways that can help you pray without getting overwhelmed with your prayers. I found that these helped me out when I was getting into prayer more seriously. I'm going to share the four methods I've come across and prayerfully they are helpful to you.

PRAY
  • Praise God and pour out your heart (Psalms 150, Heb 13:15)
  • Repent and realize God will hear you (2 Peter 3:9)
  • Ask and always believe He will answer you (Matthew 7:7, John 14:13)
  • Yield to what God tells you (Romans 12:1-2)
ACTS
  • Adoration. Praise God for who He is (Psalms 48:1)
  • Confession. Confess sins and ask for forgiveness (1 John 1:9)
  • Thanksgiving. Thank Him for all He's done (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
  • Supplication. Present your requests (Philippians 4:6)
CHAT
  • Cheer God on for who He is (1 John 4:16)
  • Humble yourself before Him (Ephesians 2:8-9, James 4:10)
  • Appreciate what He has done (Psalms 116:17, Ephesians 5:20)
  • Tell Him your needs (Matthew 21:22)
FACTS
  • Faith that is biblically founded (Romans 10:17)
  • Adoration. Express love and longing for God (Psalms 95:6)
  • Confession. Confess sins and acknowledge guilt (Proverbs 28:13)
  • Thanksgiving. Give thanks to Him (Psalms 100)
  • Supplication. Make requests according to His Will (1 John 5:14-15)
These methods are all acronyms and they pretty much all do the same thing. It's up to you to use the one your comfortable with or switch up the method daily.
Journaling Prompt
Please be as true to yourself as possible when answering the prompt to get the most out of this challenge.
How do you pray? Do you combine multiple prayers together or do you solely focus on yourself in prayer? Do you pray more for others? Do you balance your prayers?
Scripture
Today's scripture comes from Ephesians 6:18:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--
Prayer Journaling
Spend 3-7 minutes journaling your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Use the journaling prompt.

Verbal Prayer
Take 3 minutes and verbally speak your written prayer. Pray out loud so that He can hear your voice. If your prayer is short, try to add to it. Use one of the methods to pray.

Listen
Sit quietly in a position that will not make you tired and wait on God. You may feel His presence, you may hear from Him. If you do, write down what He says or what you're feeling. Give yourself at least 2 minutes of pure silence to be able to hear from and feel God. This is a conversation, not a rant. Allow Him the opportunity to speak to you after you've spoken to Him.

Let's end in prayer...

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the ability to come before You and make supplication, to confess our sins, to intercede for others and to grow in prayer. May we keep in mind who You are when we pray and the various ways that we can pray for ourselves and those around and attached to us. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Blessings,

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;...

CSB Study Bible for Women {Bible Review}

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene...
