Good morning Gems!!!
We've done it! We've completed another week of this challenge. I have to be honest. The enemy has been attacking my prayer life HARD! I remember when God put the idea in my spirit to work on my prayer life and do this challenge. I was excited to do it. It was something I really wanted to do. Then God said open it up to my blog and the ladies in the Facebook group so I did.
I knew this was going to be a challenging challenge. Whenever a person wants to get serious or deeper in their prayer life the enemy will attack. However, I didn't think it'd be this hard. I've missed a few days, skipped a few days, miss my alarm to get up every now and then...it's ridiculous.
Though we are heading into week three tomorrow, I am going to be starting fresh and "extending" my challenge.
I'm sharing this to let you all know that there may be days you miss, times when you can't pray at your set time or days you are just over it. The key is to keep pushing.
I am going to continue this challenge, but with a fresh mindset tomorrow. If I miss a day I won't get mad, I'll just do my best the next day.
I pray you are all enjoying this challenge. Though I find myself falling short every now and then, I am learning so much from this challenge and really pulling into God.
Journaling Prompt
Please be as true to yourself as possible when answering the prompt to get the most out of this challenge.
Today's scripture comes from John 15:7:
Spend 2-5 minutes journaling your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Use the journaling prompt and scripture.
Verbal Prayer
Take 2 minutes and verbally speak your written prayer. Pray out loud so that He can hear your voice. If your prayer is short, try to add to it. Pray the scripture over yourself.
Listen
Sit quietly in a position that will not make you tired and wait on God. You may feel His presence, you may hear from Him. If you do, write down what He says or what you're feeling. Give yourself at least two minutes of pure silence to be able to hear from and feel God. This is a conversation, not a rant. Allow Him the opportunity to speak to you after you've spoken to Him.
** Beginning tomorrow we will be adding 1-2 mins to each part for a longer prayer time. It's not to stress you, but to help you get into a habit. Hopefully after two weeks you feel a desire to pray longer.
