40 Day Prayer Challenge: Day 13

Morning Gems!!!

Yesterday we got the chance to learn another why to prayer which is to gain strength. Today we are just going to expound on that a bit more.
We get strength from God when we pray. Not just once or twice. There is no limit to strength that He offers us. It's unlimited strength that He willingly gives us. The only requirement is that we come to Him. We need to go to Him in order to get the strength He offers.

When we receive and embrace that strength we are also given the opportunity to get rest. Strength and rest go together. When we get strength He also gives us rest. To get the greatest capacity of strength we need to come to Him and be vulnerable.

Now this is NOT to say you won't get strength if you don't come to Him with your vulnerability. However, you get the GREATEST capacity of strength when you are vulnerable because you 1) are emptied out of anything blocking Him from your heart and mind and 2) you are now more open and receptive to what He wants to give you.

For me, I find it hard at times to be receptive to true strength because I get caught up in my own thoughts, feelings and emotions. I'm learning to be more vulnerable before Him so that I can receive the greatest filling of the strength that will sustain me.

How about you?
Journaling Prompt
Please be as true to yourself as possible when answering the prompt to get the most out of this challenge.
Do you find that you're receptive to God's strength when praying? Do you allow yourself to be vulnerable and open to get the greatest impact or filling of strength?
Scripture
Today's scripture comes from Matthew 11:28:
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Prayer Journaling
Spend 2-5 minutes journaling your thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Verbal Prayer
Take 2 minutes and verbally speak your written prayer. Pray out loud so that He can hear your voice. If your prayer is short, try to add to it. Pray for a heart that will be vulnerable and receptive to the strength He gives.

Listen
Sit quietly in a position that will not make you tired and wait on God. You may feel His presence, you may hear from Him. If you do, write down what He says or what you're feeling. Give yourself at least two minutes of pure silence to be able to hear from and feel God. This is a conversation, not a rant. Allow Him the opportunity to speak to you after you've spoken to Him.

Blessings,
