Good morning beautiful Gems!!!
I pray all is well. Today we are diving into another "segment" of why we pray. Yesterday we ended by talking about praying to know God. Today we will focus on a different aspect of why we pray and one I think is important to know...outside of knowing God through prayer.
When we pray, we pray to gain strength. We can only gain strength by seeking Him and we do that in prayer. Strength is one of those things we only get in His presence. Prayer is an essential ingredient to build strength and trust in God. They go hand-in-hand.
Needing strength is not about you being weak. It's about you being tired, overwhelmed, afraid, stressed, vulnerable and so forth. When we pray we need to be able to always gain strength for our day.
When you pray make sure that you're receiving strength in some way from God. Get filled up with His strength. Even if you don't think you "need" it, receive the strength for your own reserve.
Journaling Prompt
Please be as true to yourself as possible when answering the prompt to get the most out of this challenge.
Today's scripture comes from 1 Chronicles 16:11:
Spend 2-5 minutes journaling your thoughts, feelings and emotions.
Verbal Prayer
Take 2 minutes and verbally speak your written prayer. Pray out loud so that He can hear your voice. If your prayer is short, try to add to it. Pray for strength for yourself and others.
Listen
Sit quietly in a position that will not make you tired and wait on God. You may feel His presence, you may hear from Him. If you do, write down what He says or what you're feeling. Give yourself at least two minutes of pure silence to be able to hear from and feel God. This is a conversation, not a rant. Allow Him the opportunity to speak to you after you've spoken to Him.
Let's end in prayer...

Heavenly Father, You are all powerful. You offer strength to us each and every day. Today, we embrace the strength that You give us. Whether we are happy or sad, doing well or overwhelmed, we receive the filling of strength from You. You alone give us the true strength that sustains us. May we never seek strength from anywhere or anyone but You. This we pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
