The sweet rhymes and adorable illustrations by Kit Chase help show all the wonderful moments shared with a child, reminding children how special they are and how much they are loved.
Little Sweet Pea, I love you.
From button nose to baby coo.
Squishy cheeks and sparkly eyes,
Pure delight and perfect size.
Tender feet and tiny toes,
Where they’ll take you, no one knows.
If you love books from authors like Nancy Tillman (On the Night You Were Born) and Sam McBratney (Guess How Much I Love You), then You’re My Little Sweet Pea is the perfect book for you.
A wonderful gift for a new baby, baptism, birthday, or any occasion to show your child or grandchild they will always be your little sweet pea.
My Rating
Delightfully illustrated children's book that focuses on teaching kids how loved they are by their parents (and/or family). It goes through many aspects of the child and expresses a feeling toward that aspect. It's cute with how it rhymes and helps kids to understand unconditional love. It's targeted towards preschoolers and up, but I would even read it to a newborn or baby in the womb.

This is an amazing poetic story that makes for a fun bedtime read. My four year old enjoy the pictures, as did I, as they were beautifully drawn. I loved the watercolor feel as it made it more dream like. The artwork flowed well with the story.

I love that this book is great for both a Christian household and a non-Christian household as it doesn't mention God. However, as a Christian I still felt the presence of God within the words as I read the story to my son.

This can be a gift for grandparents, new parents or even seasoned parents. I'd even say gift it to a preschool teacher for their class. Quick, fun read.

Blessings,

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene...

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;...
