40 Day Prayer Challenge: Tools I'll Be Using

Hey Gems!!!

I shared with you all a week ago that I'd be doing a 40 day prayer challenge which I'm opening up to each of you to join in on. In that post I run through the basics of the entire challenge. With this post, I want to share with you all the books and devotionals I'll be reading to help me grow in my prayer life.
Now, of course a Bible (I'll mainly be using the NKJV Spirit-Filled Life Study Bible), pen (I'll mainly be using blue ink pens) and journal (I'll be using my homemade prayer journal) is essential to this challenge, but outside of those things I'll be using several other things to keep me focused on prayer and help me to truly understand it better. None of these things are necessary to the challenge. These are just books and things that I have and want to make use of during this challenge.

Bibles
I'll be making use of my Pray the Scriptures Bible. This Bible has prayers on every page concerning each scripture within the Bible. I am going to use this to help me pray scripture over my life and that of others.

I also want to use my CSB Women's Study Bible because it includes different prayers throughout which are helpful and geared towards women.

Devotionals
These are devotionals I will go through every morning. There will be no specific order in which I use them. I'll just flow in the way the Spirit leads me to.
  • Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled by Harold Myra
  • Prayer compiled by Dave Branon
  • The Prayers of the Bible compiled by Barbour
Books
These are just some of the books I plan to read during these 6 weeks. Some are short while others are long. Each book focuses on prayer in some fashion:
  • Praying God's Word by Beth Moore
  • Make Your Voice Heard in Heaven by Barry C. Black
  • When We Say Father by Adrian & Steve Rogers
  • Prayers and Declarations for the Woman of God by Michelle McClain-Walters
I will alternate in reading these books 1 or 2 every day so that I can at least get half way through each book, if not finish them, by the end of this challenge.

Other Tools
I'll be watching War Room (of course). I think this will definitely help me to stay focused. Every time I watch that movie I feel a spark so I'm going to watch it on the first day of the challenge!

I will be using the book called Praying the Prayers of Bible by James Banks to help me craft scriptures for intercession and specific needs.

I'll be browsing through Praying the Names of God by Leanne Blackmore to help me use different names when praying to Him. I normally get stuck on using Heavenly Father, God or Gracious Father. I want to be able to use other names when referencing Him in prayer.

I'll be reading through several "mini studies" on prayer from Discovery Series. I have about 8 booklets pulled aside to read through.

I will be using the Bible app for prayer devotionals to read as well.

Finally, I'll be using Fervent by Priscilla Shirer and The Battle Plan for Prayer by Alex & Stephen Kendrick as a resource during this challenge.

I hope this post was helpful and that you found some things to use yourself for this challenge! I have a few more posts to come to get you prepared and excited for the challenge.

Blessings,

CSB Study Bible for Women {Bible Review}
