Synopsis:
In our culture, where social media "friends" trump real-life relationships, people have never been more isolated and lonely. 365 Devotions to Love God and Love Others Well helps us experience God's perfect love for us and enables us to love others in a meaningful, honest, and profound way.
Everyone wants to love and be loved, but we lack the time and the intentionality to forge lasting relationships. We go about our days feeling battered and broken, lonely and solitary, despite the fact that we’ve been relentlessly adored by our Creator. This devotional gently shares with us that God already calls us beloved, and He desires that we love others just as He loves us.
365 Devotions to Love God and Love Others Well reminds you daily that in God's eyes you’re priceless beyond measure, and your intrinsic value doesn't change one bit regardless of what kind of day, week, or even year you're having. God has called you irreplaceable. This is the love He has for you and the love He has called you to extend to those around you. Savor this yearlong journey into God’s limitless and far-reaching love.
My Rating
This is such a pretty devotional inside and out. I love the look of this devotional. Very girly, floral and pink with gold foiling. Perfect for Valentine's season. I think this is a great devotional to read when you feel like you want to learn to love more. The devotional are helpful at keeping the main theme of love with an emphasis on God and Jesus. The setup is the same as most devotionals:
It's dated, has a title, a focual scripture and short 2-4 paragraph devotional and then a short prayer. The scriptures are taken from several translations (NIV, ASV, CSB, ESV, HCSB, NLT and The Voice) which is great for those who are new to a devotional or just starting out with reading their Bible. For myself, I just use my NKJV Bible to read the verse before diving into the devotional.

I enjoy the short prayers as they work well as journaling and prayer prompts, but I do wish they were a bit longer though. Overall, I enjoy this devotional a ton and can't wait to read through February's devotionals.

Blessings,

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene...

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;...
