Synopsis:
A Clear and Personalized Path for Discipleship
Discipleship can feel like a meandering journey―we don’t know what we want, and none of the programs offered seem to get us anywhere.
We need something to orient ourselves, and something to direct our steps toward a clear destination. Simple Discipleship, with its companion assessment tool, offers a plan for discipleship that is tailored to your real life and your personality, and clearly pointed in the way of Jesus.
Most discipleship resources are designed as mass productions―efficient for touching many, but often failing to see individuals grow in Christ. This is the best of both worlds―an assessment tool for your entire church, combined with an achievable, personalized discipling strategy.
My Rating
Crafted into ten beautifully written chapters with a clear focus on discipleship and what it is, Dana helps to bring an understanding that may speak to the lives of many. Each chapter goes into a deeper look at how we can be disciples in our every day lives and within the church. It then ends with a section called "Reflection Questions" that allows the reader to ponder the chapter and how to apply what they read.

This is one of those hands on books in which you interact with the text. Dana really provides a ton of scriptural content to bring a true understanding of discipleship. She then expounds on the scriptures with such an eloquence that grips the heart.

Truly a great read because it's packed with questions, assessments, plans and much more with 1) personal feel and 2) biblical insight.

Recommend as a read.

Blessings,

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene
