My Rating
If you don't know by now, I am a lover of devotionals...especially a well written one. I think devotionals are the perfect way to start your morning with God and even end your evening with Him. I was excited, as usual, to get my hands on a new one. This one is written by Pastor Charles F. Stanley who is the founder of In Touch Ministries. I am a fan of his daily devotionals so I knew this one would also be a great one.

Jesus, Our Perfect Hope is all about finding the one true source of hope that never fails us. This is set up in a dated yearly fashion (each day of the year). It's set with a topic, focal scripture and devotional which ranges from 2-4 paragraphs. It ends with a short prayer and a key point from the devotional.

I find that the prayers are great prompts to use. I normally write them down in my prayer journal and then expound on it. This is a very encouraging devotional that really makes you think. I love the closeness with Jesus and God. If you are looking for something that will keep your spirit lifted up this is the devotional for you.

Go grab a copy!

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene
