CSB Worldview Study Bible {Bible Review}

Good morning ladies (and gentlemen)!

Today's review is on an awesome Bible that will be released tomorrow, May 15th, 2018 worldwide! I am so happy to have been sent an early copy of this Bible. I've had it for 2 weeks and have been reading and flipping through it. I want to thank B&H Publish Group for the opportunity to review their newest Bible.

The Bible I'll be reviewing is the CSB Worldview Study Bible which is in the Christian Standard Bible translation. I have received mine in the Navy LeatherTouch. It retails for $69.99 USD, but if you check Lifeway or Christian Book I'm sure you can get it at a more discounted rate.

Here's what B&H Publishing Group says:
The CSB Worldview Study Bible features extensive worldview study notes and articles by notable Christian scholars to help Christians better understand the grand narrative and flow of Scripture within the biblical framework from which we are called to view reality and make sense of life and the world. Guided by general editors David S. Dockery and Trevin K. Wax, this Bible is an invaluable resource and study tool that will help you to discuss, defend, and clearly share with others the truth, hope, and practical compatibility of Christianity in everyday life.
This Bible, from what I've seen these past two weeks, is full of amazing articles that appeal to both believers and non-believers. I received the Navy LeatherTouch and it is absolutely amazing. A bit on the manly side for me, but the navy color is stunning. Let's jump into some stats before I share my thoughts:
  • retail price: $69.99USD
  • dimensions are 10" (L) x 7.55" (W) x 1.8" (H)
  • leather touch
  • 2208 pages
  • two column text
  • full color maps
  • concordance
  • articles
This is my first non-women's based study Bible, so I'm quite excited to have this Bible. This Bible, though it appeals to men, is still stunning with it's gorgeous navy blue color with silver gilded edges. Now, I'm going to share with you all my thoughts of each aspect of this Bible.

Book Introductions

Each of the 66 books of the Bible begin with an introduction that's packed with information. You get the break down of the books name and sometimes even it's Hebrew and/or Greek definition. You get a section called "circumstances of writing" which shares the author and background information of the book. There is also a section called "contribution to the Bible" which it gives insight on how that book works within the Bible. The final portion of the introduction area is the "structure" which explains how the book is setup. Once you get past that basic introductory information there is an area called Christian Worldview Elements which goes through the teachings about God, teachings about humanity and teachings about salvation from that book. At the bottom you will see a timeline with important dates, people and events that took place.

Study Bits

I'm not the biggest fan of commentary because it can be quite opinionated at times, but this Bible has some good commentary to help you study and understand verses, words and more. It's not heavy on commentary, but the few that you get are helpful enough when studying the Word. This Bible shares a bunch of references in the center column which is helpful when wanting to see how the scriptures compare or line up with other verses. Footnotes are useful too for understanding other phrases or finding other scriptures.

Articles

The articles in this Bible are called essays and there are over 130 essays on some amazing topics. You have a few essays on the Biblical view of music, retirement, art, marriage and child rearing. Essays on the existence of God, on gender being choice, on engaging LGBT advocates, equality of sexes, if miracles and science are compatible, and so much more. The articles really make you think about the Word and how you understand scripture. I think this are some phenomenal essays that many people wonder about, but never really mention.
I think this is the perfect study Bible for someone who is new to studying the Word and for those who consider themselves intellectuals. The study notes are there to help you study, but the articles can challenge a person to go deeper.

Perfect Bible for men! I plan to give this to my fiance for Father's Day next month.

Once again, I give my thanks to BH Publishing Group for allowing me to review this beautiful women's study Bible.
