Go deeper into the truths of Lies Young Women Believe.
So you've read Lies Young Women Believe, but you want help internalizing its truths and applying them to your life? This companion guide contains questions and activities to help you do just that.
Ever since Eve, women have been swallowing Satan's lies, and so have their daughters. In this insightful book and study guide, DeMoss and Gresh team up to expose twisted messages about God, guys, and appearance - and other falsehoods our media-driven culture feeds young women. They identify 25 of the most common lies young women believe, and boldly point you to the Truth. But knowing the Truth isn't enough. You have to live the Truth.
Each session is made up of the following features:
  • An overview of the chapter to be studied from Lies Young Women Believe and reminders of the lies discussed in that chapter
  • A daily personal study for the readers to complete during the course of the week, between youth group meetings. Each day's study includes a reading from Lies Young Women Believe and reflection questions
  • Questions to be discussed in youth group/small group setting
Ideal for small groups, Bible studies, classes, and individuals
My Rating:
This is a beautiful bible study for young girls. It's a companion to the book Lies Young Women Believe. I love how this goes deep into the Bible and getting to the root of a girls thought process and mind. This is a study that definitely can be done without the book, but some of the questions do require you to have the book.

I love how cute this study is without being overly pink and purple. The setup of this study is beautiful. It's a 9 week study broken into 4 days, which means you get three days to catch up or even take your time. Each day is broken into either 4 or 5 parts:
  • Read - you read a specified page(s) from the book Lies Young Women Believe to help guide you.
  • Realize - questions, specified scriptures and fun quizzes
  • Respond - personal questions that make you ponder on your life
  • Pray About It - an area to write out a prayer
  • Act - this is for day 4 of every week in which you get something to physically do to be able to utilize what you've read and/or learned throughout the week.
As an adult (I'm 26), I found this enjoyable and made me think of my own past as a teen. I definitely will share this study with my sister who is turning 13 this weekend as a Big Sis-Little Sis bible study. Totally recommend this!

PS I'm a huge fan of the cute scripture memory cards in the back of the study. This is just phenomenal.

Go grab a copy!

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene...

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;...
