This accessible and practical Bible study of the book of Philippians invites you to discover a joy and contentment that will carry you through every circumstance of life.
With warm teaching and perspective-shifting insights, Bible teacher Melissa Kruger walks you through the power-packed words of the apostle Paul to believers in the early church to discover what he knew about the secret to unshakable peace--and how his insights can help any woman discover a secure and satisfying contentment no matter what life may bring. With the Scripture passages printed right in the book for handy reference, this is an ideal resource for busy women of any life stage who want to deepen their spiritual life and increase their daily joy.
My Rating:
Melissa B. Kruger is an author that I'm interested in because I've heard people rave about her book The Envy of Eve. This study is all about the book of Philippians and a bit information from Acts. It's a focus of unshakable joy that Paul shows in his letter. I love the entire study! I love the setup of book and the added study guide that can be used for group sessions.

This a nine week study with a focus of joy in areas such as salvation, true fellowship, Christ's Lordship, humility, obedience, knowing Christ, heaven, inner life and in giving. This book contains actual scripture inside of it with tons of questions to really help you understand and dissect the scripture.

The weekly study is broken into 5 days. You get a day (or two) for observing what the scripture says. A day for interpreting the scripture and breakdown what it means. A day for application in which you focus on how the scripture can transform you. The last day you get a devotional based on the things you studied throughout the week.

I'm a fan of Bible studies because I love answering questions, being guided through scriptures and learning more than what I may know or think I know. I definitely think this is one for your personal arsenal. I can see this being down for an at-home study group or even for Sunday schools at church. There are many ways for how this can be used and I 100% standby and recommend this beauty. Get it when it releases!

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene...

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;...
