Series: Kaely Quinn Profiler #1
Age: Adult
Genres: Christian Fiction, Romantic Suspense
Publication Date: December 4, 2018

Synopsis:
Kaely Quinn's talents as an FBI behavior analyst are impossible to ignore, no matter how unorthodox her methods. But when a reporter outs her as the daughter of an infamous serial killer, she's demoted to field agent and transferred to St. Louis.
When the same reporter who ruined her career claims to have received an anonymous poem predicting a string of murders, ending with Kaely's, the reporter's ulterior motives bring his claim into question. But when a body is found that fits the poem's predictions, the threat is undeniable, and the FBI sends Special Agent Noah Hunter to St. Louis.
Initially resentful of the assignment, Noah is surprised at how quickly his respect for Kaely grows, despite her oddities. But with a brazen serial killer who breaks all the normal patterns on the loose, Noah and Kaely are tested to their limits to catch the murderer before anyone else--including Kaely herself--is killed.
My Rating:

This was an outstanding romantic suspense novel. I found one that really surprised me. I am giving this book a 4.5 star rating simply because the killer pissed me off at the end with his reasoning lol. Other then that this was an epic read! From start to finish Nancy had me engrossed in the story and characters.

Kaely Quinn is not your typical woman. She works as a profiler for the BAU and she is damn good at her job. She has her quirks, but she reminds me of a female version of Agents Hotch and Rossi combined. I loved the way she profiled unsubs and worked through cases. What I loved even more was her deep, unmovable faith in God. She was such a strong character. Despite being the daughter of a well-known serial killer she doesn't allow others to stop her. She does overwork herself to try and make up for her father's actions. I do believe she has some issues to work out, but I trust that they will be worked out along the trilogy.

Special Agent Noah Hunter was an awesome man. He's suffering from heartache after the death of his wife. He's pretty straightforward man. He worked hard, he didn't hesitate and he never undermined his co-workers. I enjoyed seeing him work alongside Kaely and learn some new things along the way. He wasn't a man intimidated by a woman coming in to teach him what he doesn't know or understand.

The romance was pretty cute and minimal. You have Kaely and Alex which wasn't really a romance. Alex had feelings for her, but Kaely could not reciprocate. Then there is Kaely and Noah which I'm secretly rooting for! They start off as friends, but Noah begins to fall for her. He doesn't really share his feelings to her since he understands that she isn't ready to open up to others as of yet.

Special Agent Alex is an interesting character. I thought he was a bit crazy at first, but I love that he was a man of faith. He left the job because he fell in love with Kaely, but knew he shouldn't have. Solomon was an awesome boss. I loved how he always had Kaely's back. He never planned to abandon her like her previous boss. Reinhardt is Kaely's previous boss and he was a MAJOR douche. Every time he popped on the page I wanted to jump in and punch him. I hated the way he treated Kaely just because of her quirk. He was annoying.

Richard was the father-figure that Kaely didn't have. A friend of her family charged with watching over her and her brother. A therapist who moved with Kaely to be with her. He was a pretty awesome guy to me at first. Jason, the brother of Kaely, is still a mystery from me. He seemed to have hated her, but just pops up in the end. What could he possibly want?

As for the killer...no words. I'm over it -- lol. I was upset with who it was and their reasoning behind killing others to get to Kaely. I'm glad he's caught though. Also those last few revelations killed me as well concerning Georgie and Mr. Hoover...still in awe.

Overall, if you are a fan of Criminal Minds then you'd definitely love this book. I am so glad to have read and loved this book!! Can't wait to dive into the sequel, Fire Storm.

Blessings,
