My Rating
This was a beautifully written story that comprised the stories of both Dinah and Job. There is love, forgiveness and sin wrapped up in this book to help you understand the love of God and His grace. I adored this book!

Dinah's story can found in the book of Genesis. She was the only daughter of Jacob and was defiled by Shechem. The way Mesu took her story and spun it into one that revealed sexual sin and un-forgiveness allowed for a beautiful look at God's grace and love. Dinah was a strong girl and felt loved for the first time in her life. She married outside of her people only to have killed the people of Shechem. She endured heartbreak and heartache, rude people, rumors and lies. I loved seeing Dinah go from broken to whole. The way her family and friends treated her was horrible, but the way God showed up in her life was amazing.

Job's story is one that is well known. He lost his ten kids, his friends, wife and all he owned because God considered him faithful and trusted him enough to be considered by Satan. Job dealt with much turmoil and strife from all those around him. He even grew a bit weak, but maintained his faith through it all. Job was devoted, loving, kind, friendly, hardworking and phenomenal.

The romance was utterly amazing! I loved how Dinah and Job grew to love one another despite the many oppositions. They respected one another as people and grew a beautiful friendship that blossomed. I loved the little cat and mouse game at the end between them. So cute!

Sitis annoyed me at first, but I grew to enjoy her character in the story. Nogahla was AMAZING. I loved her! Aban seemed treacherous, but I also grew to love him. Jacob and Easu were terrible to Dinah -- they should have loved and protected her. Sayyid got exactly what he deserved for his acts. I LOVED seeing Joseph included in this story!

Overall, this was a pretty great biblical read that combined the stories of Job, Dinah and a bit of Jospeh, Easu and Jacob.
Blessings,

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene...

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;...
