Synopsis:
An ambitious tyrant threatens genocide against the Jews in ancient Persia, so an inexperienced beautiful young queen must take a stand for her people.
When Xerxes, king of Persia, issues a call for beautiful young women, Hadassah, a Jewish orphan living in Susa, is forcibly taken to the palace of the pagan ruler. After months of preparation, the girl known to the Persians as Esther wins the king's heart and a queen's crown. But because her situation is uncertain, she keeps her ethnic identity a secret until she learns that an evil and ambitious man has won the king's permission to exterminate all Jews--young and old, powerful and helpless. Purposely violating an ancient Persian law, she risks her life in order to save her people...and bind her husband's heart.
Esther marks bestselling author Angela Hunt's return to biblical fiction. In each novel she explores an example of a Hebrew Old Testament tob woman: a woman whose physical beauty influences those around her--and can change the course of history.
My Rating:
This was such an enjoyable read. If you're a fan of the book or story of Esther I highly suggest you grab this beauty! I had a fun time reading this book. I loved Esther and King Xerxes. They were both well written characters. Mordecai was definitely a man of the Word, but at times I felt he was a bit over the top when it came to Esther. Queen Vashti was an evil woman for sure. The things she did to Esther and the king just made my skin crawl. I enjoyed seeing the parts of Haman bought to life as his downfall is by far one of the most interesting to me in the Bible.

Seeing the whole story play out was absolutely beautiful. It was a good paced book with drama and romance. I enjoyed it enough to give it 4 stars, but I felt like it was missing something to give it a 5 star rating. What that "something" is I can't really describe, but it's definitely a great fiction novel that will bring the book of Esther to life for sure.
Go grab a copy!

Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene...
