My Rating:
This is a book specifically geared toward women and written about women of the Bible, both well-known and unknown. I've never heard off LaTan as an author, but I definitely enjoyed this book. Any book about women of the Bible tends to intrigue me because I love learning how faithful the women were to God back then and were used by Him.

The focus of this book is about leaving behind fear and insecurity for a life of confidence and freedom. This books shows that all women struggle no matter how we see ourselves or how much God uses another. We all have our fears, flaws and downfalls, but God can use us for His work and purpose. We are all different, but we are all His daughters. LaTan uses scriptures to back up her points, she gives detailed insight on the women of the Bible. I love it!

This book could be read individually or as a group. There are questions at the end of each chapter to help you further understand and retain what was read. She also includes a separate chapter in which she has space for you to journal about a specific question (or pertaining to the chapter).

The foundation of this book is all about courage and I love it. As a woman of God I need to be courageous, even when I'm afraid. I need to grab hold of Jesus, focus on God, sink in the Word and live fearlessly. Loved this book and definitely recommend it!

DOI Book Club - Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

Good morning Gems! Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of the exciting things I'll be starting in March and it's a book club! I polled on Facebook and Instagram and had you all vote and the winner was a no-brainer! This is the first Book Club that I’ll be hosting ever and I am so excited. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer won hands down! We’re jumping into the topic of prayer and I’m a big person on reading and learning all that I can about prayer. I don’t know about you all, but my prayer life has its ups and downs. Now for those of you who don’t know, Priscilla Shirer is the actress from the movie War Room ( which I HIGHLY recommend ). She wrote a book for woman based off of the movie. Here’s bit of what to expect from this phenomenal book: “You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t gene...

VOTW | Isaiah 41:10 - Ever Present Help

Good morning Gems (& Gents)! This past weekend has been insane in both a good and scary way. I experienced something frightening, but in that situation I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I'd never would have experienced before if my relationship with God wasn't where it is now. As I was thinking of a verse for this week, I came across this one from the book of Isaiah and I knew this was it: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Such a small, yet powerful verse. This is a command and a promise from our Father whether we are in times of despair or in seasons of gladness. Though told this to the people of Israel, this verse is still true to His children today. Let's start off by breaking down some of the words in this verse shall we: Fear : the Hebrew word is  yare' meaning to cause to frighten ( affright ); to make or be afraid;...
