Happy 28th Birthday To Me!

Good morning Gems!!! It's currently 4:42am EST as I write this and I'm just in my thoughts. I am now 28 years old...two years from 30. Yes, today is my B I R T H D A Y !!!!!!!! As excited as I am about being a year older, I will say the past two weeks were insane for me emotionally. I was so concerned about my future, the plans that I had for myself that failed and almost being 30 that I started looking over my life and my past -- in doing so I found that I was making myself physically sick, stressed and feel down. However, Sunday was an awesome time in church. I was laid out on the floor, I went up in praise and I got my filling from God. I felt restoration, renewal and revival all at once. As emotional as I felt leading up to my birthday -- after yesterday, I am now feeling at peace with my day. At 28 years old I'm not successful according to the world. I mean let's take a look: I live at home with my mom and 3 younger siblings with my 5 year old son. ...

27 Things I've Learned in 27 Years

Good morning Gems!!! Happy Sunday to you all! I pray you all have a blessed day at church. We are in the month of June. That means we just about half-way through the year. It also means it's my birthday!!! Tomorrow I will be 28 years old ...I can't believe it. These past two weeks have been insanely emotional for me. I've been thinking on my life and wondering too much about where I'm going. Instead of focusing on the blessings I was focused on what's not right. I was looking at my life from the world's view rather than God's view. It drove me up a wall emotionally. I felt myself slipping. I thank God for His grace, peace and love that abounds because I was able to revert myself back to thoughts of Him alone. I do plan on posting tomorrow of course, but today I wanted to share 27 things I've learned in the past 27 years. These 27 things are personal and spiritual. These are things that have left their mark on my heart over the years... 1. I...

Ten Good Reasons To Read Your Word

Hey Gems!!! I pray each and everyone of you reading this post have had a great week and that you're weekend is going to be phenomenal. If not, I pray that God gives you rest this coming week in your mind and heart. Today, I want to share something I found while reading my Bible. I found this article in my Woman’s Study Bible by Stormie Omartian, the author of The Power of a Praying Woman . As I read through the article I totally agreed with everything. Many people why they should read their Bibles and my number one reason is always because it keeps you grounded and balanced. I strongly believe that we all need to be in our Word each and every day, studying it in some form or fashion and not just reading. Taking the time to pick it apart, meditate and pray on the Word so that we may become stronger in God’s strength and not our own. Here are the ten reasons that Stormie Omartian gives and my thoughts on why I agree with them: 1) To know where you are going. Direct my s...

A Woman of Persevering Faith

We hear, quite often, that we are to persevere and/or endure in our lives. We hear it from Pastors, Bishops, family, members, friends and even those in influential positions in the government. However, do we really understand what it means to persevere and endure? Let's breakdown the word persevere and perseverance: Persevere : to persist in a state, enterprise, or undertaking in spite of counter-influences, opposition, or discouragement. Perseverance : continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition : the action or condition or an instance of persevering. Endure : to remain firm under suffering or misfortune without yielding; to undergo especially without giving in. These are the definitions that can be found in the the Merriam-Webster's dictionary. Now let's look at these word in a biblical way according to the Strong's Dictionary: Persevere : a patient enduring as God enables the believer to remain...

Spiritual Nourishment

Do you nourish your spirit like you nourish your flesh? How often do you have a meal? What about a good snack? Is it a fun time for you when you eat? Are you relaxed or is it something you hurry through? We all eat on a daily basis. Sometimes the whole 3 meals a day can get lost on us. Some of us only eat 2 and others maybe even eat more than 3 meals a day. It all varies depending on the person. We eat for physical nourishment. Food gives us the minerals and vitamins needed to nourish and promote growth. It also gives us energy, repairs the body tissues and maintains our lives on a physical level. You may be wondering what nourishment is exactly, so here's a few definitions for you: Nourishment  is food and other things that are needed for health, growth and etc; sustenance ; the act of nourishing . Nourishing is providing the things that are needed for health, growth and etc. Sustenance is something that gives support, help or strength to keep someone or something al...

Here's a synopsis of this beauty God says, “Follow me.” But we can think of a million excuses. We’re not smart enough, big enough, trained enough, capable enough—the list goes on and on. But God sees us through the filter of grace and calls us “enough” in Christ.   The God of the Bible—who empowered Abraham, Moses, Esther, and others—is still calling and equipping us today. Walk with Heather King as she relates humorous and practical stories from the lives of Bible heroes, as well as her own life, to show us that following is about obedience, relationship, and just saying “Yes!” to God.
